Hallie
had a fine showing at Nebraska State Fair, her
only 2 shows. her dam, Karma, was a slow
maturing doe but appraised 91 as a 6 year old.
It may take a little while for Hallie to come
into her own but we think this doe has a bright
future.
Hallie's
first freshening yearling udder was totally
unexpected and the best surprise ever! She has
the nicest rear udder we have bred to date. Her
udder is incredibly high (we mean really high!)
and wide for a first freshening yearling and
teat placement is near perfect, pointing
absolutely straight down. her medial suspensory
ligament is near perfect as well. We thought the
best first freshener udder honors would remain
with Katamaran for awhile but Hallie's udder
just wows you when you see it - she really did
knock it out of the park.
Hallie is milking well
over 8 pounds/day. Her lactation has been level
until we hit 106 degree heat in mid-August the
week before State Fair. All does dropped a bit
but Hallie is still milking 8 pounds/day in
September. She is incredibly easy to milk, milks
down completely and is just a dream boat on the
milk stand.
Hallie will be Lap-AI'd to
Altrece Cosmopolitan for February kids. Backup
will be Juke Box Hero. |
