Zombie
was my favorite of the
yearling group in 2017. She is a correct,
strong-boned doe with excellent feet and legs.
Zombie, naughty girl, did not get bred as a two
year old.
Finally
as a three year old, Zombie kidded with a single
buck. Zombie easily has the best general
appearance of any doe in the herd. She is large,
she is long, she is level with a wide flat rump,
her topline is as straight and strong as can be
and she is correct with excellent feet and legs.
unfortunately her udder did not develop
properly. While it is very well attached with a
beautiful arch, one side did not come in.
Zombie is simply too good
a doe to let go of even with only half an udder.
She was milking 8# on one side through most of
the Spring, then she did drop off in the heat of
the summer, so, with no chance of showing, she
was dried up early. We are going to give her a
chance to produce some doe kids for us (bucks
will not be offered).
In 2021 Zombie freshened
with twin does out of Kryptonite and it doesn't
get any better than the doe kids she gave us in
2021. Daughter Ocarina was 3X Jr. Champion
LaMancha this year and her twin sister Zelda
placed well in all her classes.
Zombie's other half an
udder came in and the two halves are now almost
but not quite even. Considering last year there
was no milk at all on that side (right side) it
actually doesn't look too bad. Zombie does have
a nice fore udder. We still feel that her udder
development (or lack of) was freak occurrence
having something to do with being open as a 2
year old. We will see how daughters Ocarina and
Zelda compare in 2022. Hoping Zombie has quads
which would give her udder a big boost. A doe
this good, that produced the outstanding
daughters she did this year, has to be given
every chance possible.
Zombie will be bred to Quincy for Feb-Mar kids. |
